  • Marxists want a collectivized and planned economy directed in a cooperative manner to meet the needs of all of society. Fascists want extreme striation, often appealing to ethnic supremacy and “might makes right” mentality, all as justification for bourgeois rule. These are not the same in any way.

As for “authoritarianism,” all states are authoritarian, what matters is which class controls the authority and which is oppressed. Marxists want the working class in charge of that authority, while fascists want the bourgeoisie in charge. Until the state withers away upon full collectivization of production, and as such until class is abolished, it is best for the working class to have that control.

This is more dodging the points raised than addressing them. You have proposed reasons for why the data may not be as accurate as possible, but that only prompts further investigation, not closing the book entirely. Further, all states are “authoritarian,” and no state wants to report a high suicide rate, so that isn’t a reasonable counter. Until the state withers away, it’s better for workers to have control of that authority.

Yes, exactly. This is why socialism is important, not just trying to form a more ethical capitalism. Management is critical. Tacticians, for example, often focus on the immediate, while strategians focus on the large-scale and long-term. They coincide and reinforce each other, and no one person can do both adequately. Production is similar, there is a need for those focused on the bigger picture of organizing and those focused on the small, and though those at the smaller end may be working according to grander plans not set by themselves, this is not done to enrich the grander planners, but to come to success for all.

There’s no need to be condescending, the person you are replying to is a communist. They are trying to get you to see the merits of socialist organization, not simply attacking all management.

  • Yes, fantastic way to put it, again further illustrating why complex society requires different positions of focus, including different levels of organization. You cannot have local governments functioning properly without a cohesive central government, and a central government cannot properly handle or comprehend the complexities of local life without strong local governments. Democratic centralism and whole process people’s democracy are proven tools of meeting the needs of the people.

  • Why? The PRC is making rapid scientific progress in production, infrastructure, green energy development, multilateral trade, and is wildly popular among its working class for the great achievements socialism has brought them. The large firms and key industries are state run, while the secondary and light industry has diverse forms of ownership from private to cooperative to joint-stock. Already, while being only in the primary stage of socialism, they are surpassing the US Empire.

The PRC’s Socialism with Chinese Characteristics is merely one form of socialism, it just happens to be the presently most advanced form of it. Other countries like Cuba have similar but different forms of socialism.

  • Those aren’t exclusive. Collaboration and leadership can coexist, especially when the leadership is accountable to the led. Differences in skill and experience exist, period, so acknowledging this and accounting for it is the best way to meet everyone’s needs best from everyone’s skills and talents. It also allows those that have less skill to gain guidance and training in a less directly responsible manner.
