Military officials tell Hebrew-language media outlets that an Israeli army tank team shelled a camera stationed at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis earlier today after believing the device was being used to track troops.

Two shells were fired by the tank, with the first targeting the camera and the second hitting rescuers who were operating at the scene. The strike killed 20, including five journalists, according to media reports and Hamas health officials.

Reuters and other news providers often deliver live video feeds to media outlets worldwide during major news events to show the scene from the ground in real time. A review of Masri’s live feed from before the strike did not appear to show any soldiers.

They knew journalists were at the hospital on that floor. They knew which journalists were present. They likely know the identities of every person in the hospital, with intelligence dossiers on every person in the building.

They were targeted because Israel is waging a campaign of terror against journalists to make them stop covering the genocide.

Absolutely all of this. This has been the case from day one. People still in denial about the level of intelligence Israel possesses and their repeated “oopsies” are either completely unfamiliar of how occupying forces operate or genocide apologists.

They understand this isn’t an excuse right?

    UPDATE:(edited)

The IDF claims the Nasser Hospital massacre was caused by a “Tank shell.” This is false. Our researchers have analysed the footage and confirmed it shows a guided missile fired on a direct trajectory from the northwest - consistent with precision systems such as Spike NLOS. [Hind Rajab Foundation]

Confirmation: an Israeli soldier posted a story of the same Spike system shortly after the strike, with “Die, motherf***er, die” music playing. [Israeli Genocide Tracker] edit: link added

Why do they always respond by shooting a disproportionately obscene ballistic at things like this camera, instead of just disabling/taking the camera? The target is at a hospital, why are they shooting at a single camera with a tank? And two shells?? For a camera?

I know why, but could some country that gives at least 1 fuck just put troops at the hospitals/aid camps? Offer to run security at these facilities and let the IDF worry about finding Hamas, instead of scary cameras.

I’d love to see our troops do that rather than harassing houseless individuals, or just walking around like Stormtroopers. I know it’s a pipe dream anyone does anything though. 😩

If you want the Samson option thrown around then maybe. But also mostly because everyone knows they won’t hesitate to fire on ally soldiers. They take potshots at UN Peacekeepers every chance they get. They live firmly in the belief that the only lives that matter are Israeli lives.
